Beta Theta Pi
Founded in 1839 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, the mission of Beta Theta Pi is to develop men of principle for a principled life. Our core values are to build lasting bonds of friendship and brotherhood. Beta calls for:
- Mutual Assistance
- Intellectual Growth
- Responsible Conduct
Whitman College’s Gamma Zeta chapter of Beta Theta Pi was founded on our campus in 1916. Recently celebrating 100 years of brotherhood, the men of the chapter adhere to the mission of Beta Theta Pi as well as our motto, “Cooperation Makes Strength.”
Representing six different countries, the brothers of Gamma Zeta embrace diversity in both background and passions. Our presence on campus can be highlighted by a number of successes including advocacy in social justice, contribution to campus media, and athletic achievements in sports, just to name a few.
The chapter sees a bright future ahead of itself by continually building stronger relationships with alumni, the national organization, and the college campus, while abiding by and upholding a principled life.
