Have you set up your Whitman account? If not, search your personal email for the subject line: “Welcome to Whitman College! Claim your account.”
Follow the instructions in that email to claim and activate your account, which you’ll use to log in everywhere Whitman. You’ll set up a password for your account and Multi-Factor Authentication protection through Duo Security (see below).
Using Whitmail
Whitman’s email system, Whitmail, is run by the Google platform. You can access your email, Google Drive and Google Apps through the Whitmail system.
To Log In:
- Go to whitmail.whitman.edu.
- Log in with the Whitman username and password you set.
Whitman Uses Duo Security
Once you claim your email account, you’ll need to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) protection. Whitman uses Duo Security for this service—you’ll receive an email with how to activate it. You need this protection to continue accessing your email, and other services and platforms at Whitman. In most cases, Duo is used through an app you download for your mobile device. Learn more about Duo at Whitman.
Whitman highly recommends having a computer and other related items for your education.
Find information about your technology needs as a student and how we can help.
As a student, you’ll have access through your Whitman account to Google Workspace: a suite of cloud computing tools, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Meet.
All students receive a free copy of Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Starting Aug. 1, you’ll be able to go to portal.office.com and log in with your Whitman account to download your free software.
