Look for weekly emails from Dean Juli Dunn every Monday until classes begin. The New Student Orientation schedule will be posted online as soon as it is available.
Items You Must Complete
For most of these tasks, you’ll receive more detailed instructions in your Whitman email.
By June 20
- Complete your Housing Preferences Survey, if you haven’t already. In August, you’ll receive your residence hall and room assignment in your Whitman email, as well as in the mail.
- Submit your name pronunciation recording.
- Submit your photo for your Whitman ID card.
- Complete the Online Advising Questionnaire.
- Review options for First Year Seminar courses in your Whitman email and submit your preferred learning communities.
Keep an eye on your email: During June, look for required trainings on Alcohol Ed, Sexual Assault Prevention and Hazing Prevention.
By July 1
- Share your preferences for Opening Week Extended Activities.
- Submit your Transfer Credit Form—for credits from another college/university; for Running Start or other dual enrollment courses; or for AP, IB or A-Level exams.
- Request College Board send AP reports to Whitman (if applicable).
- Request International Baccalaureate send IB certificates to Whitman (if applicable).
Plan to work on campus? Create a profile on Handshake, Whitman’s job and internship platform.
By July 15
- Complete your student check-in (available after June 15).
- Request your final high school or college transcripts from all previous institutions be sent to the Office of Admission.
- Complete any applicable placement tests, such as calculus, chemistry and/or languages.
- Consider your payment options. If you are requesting a Deferred Payment Plan contract for Fall 2025, send your request to StuAcct@whitman.edu. Learn more about payment options and making online payments.
By Aug. 15
- Complete all required online trainings.
- Upload required immunizations into your student health portal. (You’ll get more instructions over the summer.)
- Pay your bill for the 2025 Fall Semester. View your Student Accounts balance.

Whitman’s single sign-on uses your Whitman username and password. Your username is the part of your email address before @whitman.edu.
