Items You Must Complete
Look for weekly emails from Dean Juli Dunn in your Whitman inbox every Monday until classes begin. She will share detailed instructions on each of these tasks. You can also check out our virtual orientation series, ‘Know Before You Go’, for more information.
By June 15
- Complete your Housing Preferences Survey. In August, you’ll receive your residence hall and room assignment in your Whitman email, as well as in the mail. Tips to Make Your Room Your Own!
- Start working on your myWhitman To-Do Items. Tasks are added throughout the summer to ensure that you’re all set for orientation, advising and registration when you arrive in August.
Additional Tasks if Applicable to You:
Keep an eye on your email: In June, look for instructions about completing required trainings on Alcohol Ed, Sexual Assault Prevention and Hazing Prevention in your Whitman inbox.
Health records prep: You’ll need to upload your immunization records by Aug. 15. Instructions will be sent in Dean Dunn’s Monday emails. Start gathering your required immunization records now so you’ll be ready to verify your health information when the time comes.
Request assistance: Our Disability Access Services is here to support and empower students living with a documented disability. Note: You will need to have claimed your Whitman email address and Whitman ID number. Instructions were sent in Dean Dunn’s first Monday email.
By July 1
- Complete your Academic Advising Survey. This will help your advisor get to know you and your interests.
- Review options for your First Year Seminar and submit your learning community preferences. (Submission link coming soon.)
- Share your Experience Whitman preferences for Opening Week (More information coming soon).
- Submit your Transfer Credit Form in myWhitman for credits from another college/university; for Running Start or other dual enrollment courses; or for AP, IB or A-Level exams. Note: Every student must complete this form, even if you are not transferring credits.
Additional Tasks if Applicable to You:
If you have AP test scores or IB certifications, submit your request to College Board and International Baccalaureate to send them to Whitman.
By July 15
- Continue to work on your myWhitman To-Do Items.
- Submit your name pronunciation recording.
- Upload your photo for your Whitman ID card (submission link coming soon). Photo requirements are listed online.
- Request that your final high school or college transcripts from all previous institutions be sent to our Office of Admission.
- Review your fall semester invoice and consider your payment options. Please note: If you did not receive instructions on how to download your invoice by July 15, email stuacct@whitman.edu. Learn more about making online payments and your student account.
Additional Tasks if Applicable to You:
Plan to work on campus? Create a profile on Handshake, Whitman’s job and internship platform. Student jobs will begin to be posted in late July and early August. More information will be shared in Dean Dunn’s ‘Know Before You Go’ virtual orientations.
By Aug. 15
- Complete your myWhitman To-Do Items.
- Complete all required online training on Substance Use Education, Sexual Assault Prevention and Hazing Prevention. Instructions will be sent to your Whitman email throughout the summer.
- Complete the Acknowledgement of the Students’ Rights and Responsibilities (more info to come).
- Upload required immunizations and other health information into your student health portal. Instructions will be sent to your Whitman email.
- Pay your bill for the 2026 Fall Semester. View your Student Accounts balance.
Additional Tasks if Applicable to You:
Plan on taking any chemistry, computer science, language and/or math courses at Whitman? Complete any academic placement tests.
