Wellness
104 Merriam St., Walla Walla, WA 99362
Established in 2021, the Wellness House has four bedrooms and comfortably houses an average of five residents and one Resident Assistant. Residents of the Wellness House focus on the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, which include Emotional, Financial, Social, Spiritual, Occupational, Physical, Intellectual, and Environmental Wellness. The space is designed for sober living and those seeking recovery in a variety of forms. The Wellness House is the first student residence of its kind in Washington state, created through the initiative of Dr. Rae Chresfield (Associate Dean of Students: Health & Wellness/Counseling Center Director) and funded by grants from Washington State University and the State of Washington.
This house is not affiliated with an academic department, although Dr. Chresfield provides residents with advice and tips on wellness activities for the household and other programming ideas.
Residents of the Wellness House are responsible for completing weekly chores, having active involvement within the house and the Interest House Community, and promoting Wellness House-sponsored events and activities.
If you would like to arrange to eat dinner at the Wellness House, or have any questions about house activities, please contact the Residence Life Office.
