Asian Studies
20 Merriam St., Walla Walla, WA 99362
Established in 1986, the Asian Studies House (ASH) has five bedrooms and comfortably houses an average of six-seven residents, one Resident Assistant, and a language assistant. The language assistant is a resident of China and spends the full academic year working through the Chinese department to promote and assist students in the learning of the Chinese language.
This house focuses on Asian-oriented interests. Traditional events that take place here include Mahjong and the Chinese New Year celebration.
The Asian Studies House is affiliated with the Chinese and Asian Studies departments and is assigned an adviser from the Chinese department. At least once in the semester, the house adviser is invited over for dinner to discuss the programs that the Asian Studies House residents are planning for the semester.
Residents of the Asian Studies House are responsible for completing weekly chores, having active involvement within the house and the Interest House Community, and promoting house sponsored events and activities.
If you would like to arrange to eat dinner at the ASH, or have any questions about house activities, please contact the RA.
