CIEE: Cape Town Arts and Sciences
Through CIEE, qualified Whitman students can directly enroll at the prestigious University of Cape Town (UCT), one of Africa’s leading research universities located on a beautiful campus in the stunning, coastal city of Cape Town. UCT is an academically rigorous, comprehensive university offering a wide range of courses in the natural sciences, social sciences and the humanities. Study at UCT affords students an opportunity to study amidst a multi-ethnic and racially diverse student body of 28,000 with other international students from elsewhere in Africa and around the world.

Housing: |
Students may choose to live in host families arranged by CIEE, in apartment-style residence halls with 2-3 African students, or in shared apartments with a local Resident Assistant. |
Meals: |
Students who live in host families will be provided with breakfast and dinners by the family. Students who live in the residence hall apartments or off-campus apartments cook for themselves in their apartment’s kitchen or take their meals on campus or at local eateries. |
