Family Leadership Council
The Whitman College Family Leadership Council (FLC) is an opportunity for parents and families of current Whitman students to engage with the college, learn about the biggest issues on campus and connect with staff and each other. Through various volunteer opportunities, members support key campus activities and recognize the value of philanthropy and advocacy to have a positive impact on current students and the campus community.
FLC Benefits
- Engagement: Opportunities to meet with the president and campus leaders on key topics.
- Events: Attend special Family Weekend events including an FLC reception and tours.
- Outreach: Welcome new families to Whitman, support admission events in your area, and help spread stories of impact.
- Mentorship: Share your expertise with students and recent graduates, serve on career panels, and share your perspectives with other advisory boards
- Updates: Receive Quarterly Newsletter with updates from campus and invites to special events.
Family Leadership Commitments
All members of the Whitman FLC will support the college by:
- Making an annual gift to The Whitman Fund or W Club Athletics
- Participating in one (or more) committee
- Development
- Admissions
- Career and Community Engagement
- Attending FLC meetings on campus and/or Zoom meetings.
- Meetings are held twice per year during Family Weekend in October and Spring Into Whitman in April
