Photo & Video
The Whitman content team supports the college's videography and photography needs in support of the college brand and its strategic goals. The Office of Communications also maintains a photo database of images that can be accessed by members of the Whitman community.
We work with professional freelancers and students to meet the photo needs of our campus community. There is no charge for photography or videography taken by our team. Charges may be associated with hiring freelancers; this is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Photography and videography requests are prioritized by those that most meet the needs of the college's strategic goals.
The college emphasizes videography to support its enrollment goals. This includes social media, marketing and feature story videos. Event photography and portraits are primarily taken by our team of trained student photographers. Requests for photography should be submitted as early as possible to allow us to schedule around our students' class schedules. All requests for photography need to be submitted via this form. Requests are evaluated based on how well each meets the college's and communications' strategic goals. If you would like assistance hiring an outside photographer to cover an event, please contact Savannah Tranchell.
Photo Database Request
Communications maintains a photo database of recent and past events, people and campus imagery. These photos are available free of charge for use by departments across campus. A selection of campus photos is available for public download.
