Summer fly-in program soars past participation record
Over two sessions in June and July, a record 61 new Whitties from 15 states took part in Whitman’s Summer Fly-in Program. The program is designed for incoming first years from first-generation, working-class or under-resourced backgrounds, and it has become an integral part of Whitman’s pre-semester orientation since its introduction in 2015.

Whitman earns EPA award for green power use
Whitman College ranked at the top of the Northwest Conference during the 2016-17 College and University Green Power Challenge. Run by the Environmental Protection Energy (EPA), the voluntary program encourages organizations to commit to renewable energy sources as a way to cut back on the environmental impacts associated with electricity use.
