Printing FAQs

What is Wepa?
Wepa is a printing service that allows students to upload their documents from campus and personal computers, tables and smartphones. Then, students can simply print from any of Whitman’s printing kiosks.

How much money do I receive for printing?
Whitman automatically allocates $35/year of college funds to each student. This cap on funds was put in place to discourage paper waste; however, additional funds are available from the college if students use their printing allotment. Students will not be charged for these extra funds.

What if I run out of printing funds?
If you run out of funds you can request more funds from the college – no questions asked and no extra charge!

How do I request additional funds?
Additional funds can be requested by emailing Wēpa at whitmanfunds@wepanow.com

How much does it cost?
For single-sided printing the cost is 6 cents for black & white and 35 cents for color.  For double-sided printing the cost is 11 cents for black & white and 68 cents for color.

Where can I print?
Students can print at any Wepa print station across campus during regular building hours including:

  • Reid Campus Center, first floor fireplace lounge
  • Penrose Library, ground floor
  • Olin Hall, second floor study lounge
  • Maxey Hall. first floor student lounge
  • Hall of Science, first floor STEM Hub
  • Hall of Music, Room 101 (listening library)

How do I get started?
The fastest and easiest way to print is with the Wepa mobile app. Search for “wepa print” in the app store or tap here. After opening the app, choose Whitman College and log in with your Whitman username and password. View the tutorial to learn how to add files, choose your payment method, and set up your documents to release automatically when you tap your phone to the print station.

How do I print?
There are more detailed instructions on the different ways to print on Knowledge Base.

I am an employee. How do I print?
Faculty and staff are welcome to use the kiosks on an as-needed basis but should not be used as a replacement to department printers. Employees are provided the same quota as students.

Why did Whitman change the printing process?
WCTS wanted to make it easier for the Whitman community to print from any device without having to install any additional programs.

Who can help me if I have questions?
The WCTS Help Desk can assist students with any technology needs. If you need assistance, you can contact the help desk at helpdesk@whitman.edu or call 509-527-4976 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
