May 30, 2017 The class of 1967 raised almost $1.4 million for their alma mater, the second highest gift total for any graduating class in Whitman’s history, and they have estate commitments to Whitman valued at more than $9 million—the most for any Whittie class.

April 10, 2017 Reid, 93, died from complications of cancer last Sunday at Washington Odd Fellows Home on Boyer Avenue, directly across the street from the house in which he and his wife, Hedda Jorgenson Reid '49, who survives him, raised their family.
