The Missionaries host a twinbill of tennis on Saturday against George Fox. The first match starts at 10:30 a.m. with the second match to follow at about 2:30.
The Bruins, with just six players on their roster, are winless in nine conference matches thus far this season.
Whitman, which starts the weekend with a 7-2 NWC record, can move into a second-place tie with Linfield by beating George Fox twice on Saturday.
First-place Whitworth then brings a 10-0 conference record to Whitman on Sunday. That match begins at 1 p.m.
Weather permitting, look for all of this weekend's matches to be played on outdoor campus courts. The Bratton Tennis Center will be used in case of inclement weather.
Earlier this season in Spokane, Whitworth squeaked past Whitman 5-4 in the first meeting between the two schools. Whitman's other conference loss this season, also 5-4, came against Linfield.
