July 31, 2020 - Employees who Live in Umatilla County
Dear faculty and staff,
Many of you have heard that Oregon Governor Kate Brown has reinstated the stay-at-home order for Umatilla County. In response, and in consultation with the Walla Walla County Department of Community Health, we are asking Whitman employees who live in Umatilla County to take the following steps.
These instructions only apply to those employees who live in Umatilla County, Oregon.
- If you are currently working from home and have not been reporting to campus, please continue to work from home. Even if you have been cleared to return to work, please do not do so without additional approval from your supervisor and human resources.
- If you can complete the majority of your work from home and had been working from home during Walla Walla’s stay-at-home order but are now working on campus, please plan to work from home on Monday. If you are able, please bring home laptops and other materials needed to work from home. We encourage you to be in contact with your supervisor. Next week we will work with your supervisor to determine if you should continue to work from home until the stay-at-home order is lifted.
- If you had been classified as “essential” and were working on campus during Walla Walla’s stay-at-home order, you should report to work on Monday. Next week we will work with your supervisor to determine if you should continue to report to campus for work or if alternate arrangements can be made.
- If you recently returned to work, but cannot complete your work from home, you should report to work on Monday. Next week we will work with your supervisor to determine if you should continue to report to campus for work or if alternate arrangements can be made.
If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to Human Resources.
Best,
Josh Jensen
