Trove/Trope

Trove/Trope, an installation created by Lauren Adams in the Maxey Museum and funded by Whitman College’s Global Studies Initiative, was conceived in dialogue with Scenes and Types: Photography from the Collection of Adnan Charara, currently on view at the Sheehan Gallery. Inviting a contemporary artist to create work in dialogue with Charara’s photographs became a central component of the project, adding a visual interpretative layer to the textual approaches offered by the Sheehan show’s curators.
