Award summary: The FAO Schwarz Fellowship is a paid, two-year placement program with leading nonprofit organizations in Boston, New York and Philadelphia. The program focuses on professional development that has social impact in the community. The fellowship also provides a variety of professional development, mentorship and networking experiences.
Fellows are highly motivated and committed to social justice. Qualified candidates have proven academic excellence, demonstrated leadership in their college communities and eagerness to immerse themselves in a two-year experience that will challenge them, train them and empower them with skills and networks for their careers.
Application process: The Schwarz program selects organizations to host fellows each year. These organizations are responsible for screening candidates, conducting interviews and selecting fellows.
Applicants are encouraged to learn as much as possible about host organizations and to review job descriptions before applying. New organizations and specific fellowship positions are announced each year with the opening of the application cycle.
Application requirements: Applications open in mid-November when host organizations are announced. Applicants then apply directly to the host organizations, which conduct their own screening and interview processes.
