What I love about Whitman: I love being a part of a community and the care that everyone on campus shows for each other at Whitman. I watch students come to campus, see them grow, hear their ideas and experiences, and dream about what impact they will have on the world. The best part is the connections that they make with faculty, coaches, staff and classmates. Long before I joined as a staff member, I was connected to staff, students and faculty who just made you want to be a part of this campus.
Why I enjoy working in Development: I get the opportunity to work with alumni, parents and community members who love Whitman and want to find a way to give back or provide new opportunities for students, now and in the future. It is wonderful to dream with them, hear their experiences and help them make Whitman a better place.
My favorite activities in Walla Walla: Enjoying amazing restaurants, summer music, walking my dogs downtown and through our neighborhood, and exploring the many wineries in the valley.
My favorite place on campus: Cleveland Commons! The food is amazing (best salad bar in Walla Walla), and the buzz of students and community members is always enjoyable.
Fun facts about me: I have two daughters, one who is joining Whitman as a member of the class of 2029. Go Blues! I spent 20 years working in nonprofit management and operations before joining Whitman, including time with both local and national organizations.
Major responsibilities and prospect territory: Family giving. I also travel to Washington, Oregon, California (Bay Area and Los Angeles), Colorado, Texas, Montana, Idaho and Alaska (which is beautiful, by the way).
