Kate Jackson

Professor of Biology (on sabbatical, 2025-2026)

Ph.D., Harvard University

Research Interests: Herpetology (especially of Africa), comparative anatomy (especially of snakes), evolution and systematics of snakes, snake venom-delivery systems, snakebite as a global public health crisis.

Courses: The Biological World (Biol 112), Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy (Biol 315), Transformations in Vertebrate Evolution (Biol 316), Biology of Amphibians and Reptiles (Biol 327), Herpetology Lab (Biol 337).
