Fall 2020 Moves Online

Whitman College has made the decision that the fall 2020 semester will be primarily via remote learning.

As our community begins an academic year like no other in our history, the difficult decision to move primarily to remote learning prioritizes the health and safety of our students, employees and the Walla Walla Valley while remaining committed to our educational mission. Welcome to Whitman College, a place where we are dedicated to creating an inclusive community of students, faculty, staff, alumni and family members. There can never be a place like home, and we will not pretend to replace that, but we will make every effort to create conditions where your student can thrive and flourish as a citizen, scholar and human being. The transformation from being a high school student to being an independent college student can be an opportunity for growth that may be accompanied by growing pains. We will do everything we can here at Whitman to ensure a positive transition, but we cannot succeed alone. We will need your unwavering support for your student as we engage in this journey together.

Please use the resources on this website to help you as you guide your student into the next phase of their life as an adult and college student. Our team will be here to support them — and you.
