One autumn evening
With activities all around her on campus, Susannah Ellis ’14 found a patch of golden sun on a bench for a quiet moment to read near the Hall of Music.
For 45 minutes on Oct. 21, 2010, I raced the setting sun.
I’d been challenged by the editor to try to capture the beauty of the Whitman campus and the vibrant activity during that sublime hour when the autumn sun is shining its last rays of the day, and students are enjoying much-needed leisure time, frequently in fun (and fierce) intramural competitions.
