Debate ReunionCalling all debaters: Whitman debate coaches, both present and past, and the alumni office have teamed up to organize a Debate Reunion in conjunction with Spring Reunion Weekend 2011.

A head for businessAs a young couple, John ’54 and Janet Peterson explored some of the most renowned museums of the world. First, in Germany and France, while John served as a finance officer in the Army, and later in Manhattan, where they lived a short time after his service ended.

Alumni board nominations due in February
All alumni may participate in nominating new members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. The procedure requires 12 or more alumni to sign a petition on behalf of someone they wish to nominate. E-mails are acceptable.

How did you get where you are?
What was your major at Whitman? After Whitman, how did you get where you are now? Was there a defining moment or experience at Whitman that changed or set your future course?
Teach For AmericaFor Miyoko Patricelli ’10, it began with a handful of medical forms and a bewildered 19-year-old young man. She was a Whitman student volunteering at Walla Walla Helpline, and he was trying to obtain money for a doctor’s prescription he could not afford. As he struggled to write his own name and his own birthday, Patricelli knew she had to change something.
In Memoriam
Lucile E. Rempel died Oct. 4, 2010, at her Walla Walla home. She was the wife of the late Arthur "Art" Rempel, beloved longtime Whitman biology professor.
