IES: Queen Mary, University of London
Queen Mary is a self-contained, thriving campus in London's ethnically and socially diverse East End. Queen Mary is a university of 16,000 students with a long history of internationalism: 20% of the student body comes from outside the UK.
“I had the best living situation I could have imagined. There were nine people in my flat including me: two Americans, one Russian, one from China and five from England. We did things together as a flat all the time (Hyde Park boating lake, pubs, visiting different London neighborhoods, going to Brighton, etc.). Just an incredibly warm, welcoming environment from the get-go, and I learned so much about English, Russian, and Chinese cultures while living with them.” - Colleen M. '16
