Immigration Information

Faculty members who plan to host international short-term visitors should contact the Business Office before making any contractual arrangements. The office will provide information about available visa options and assist in determining which visa status is most appropriate for the visitor's individual circumstances. This will ensure the following:

1. Visitors can receive the appropriate payments
2. They are not denied entry into the U.S.
3. They do not have more taxes withheld than are necessary, and
4. Hosting departments are not assessed fines by the IRS or the US Customs and Immigration Service (USCIS)
