Gina Zandy Ohnstad

Gina Zandy Ohnstad began her role as the Vice President for Communications in August of 2021 after seven years at Whitman, most recently as the Sr. Director for Communications. In her time at Whitman, Gina has been instrumental in overseeing crisis communication, implementing a new campus emergency alert system, leading communications efforts on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic, and creating cohesion between the Admission and Communications staff during a departmental merger. Prior to arriving in Walla Walla Ohnstad spent 15 years working as a TV news producer, earning several Emmy awards along the way. When she’s not at work, Gina enjoys running, cycling and camping with her husband and son.
