Why you chose Whitman: I visited Whitman for an Admitted Students Day and instantly fell in love with the school. The campus immediately felt like a new home- everyone I met was so positive and seemed so genuinely excited about welcoming visitors to campus. During my visit I was most impressed and excited by the sense of community I felt at Whitman. After only being on campus for a few hours I could tell how involved everyone was on campus and what a unique, rigorous, and kind learning environment was fostered here.
Favorite things to do in Walla Walla: Recently I’ve gotten very into playing pickleball with my housemates at Pioneer Park.
Favorite spot on campus: The climbing gym! I love to go there to climb and hang out with friends. I’ve also recently developed a love for the silent room in the library- don’t be too intimidated (like I was), it's a great place to get work done and it's so beautiful!
What advice you’d give yourself when you were going through the college process: Trust yourself! You can make a hundred pros/cons lists (which I did), but you know yourself better than anyone else and when it comes to decision time go with what feels right for you.
Best class you’ve taken on campus: It's a tie between my First Year Seminar class on Justice, and Psychology Research Methods, where we got to conduct our own research study!
Favorite campus traditions: The Student Activities Fair at the beginning of every school year. Even as a senior who is involved in plenty of clubs it's so fun to go walk around all the tables, see all the amazing clubs and organizations, and talk to students about things they are passionate about!
