Life in the Ancient Near East

Designed over the summer of 2007 by Chreise Hilman '09 this small display on the landing between the second and third floor of the Penrose Library features artifacts from the Ancient Mid-East collected by Whitman alum Frances Sickles '50. Sickles donated the artifacts in 2003 to honor the memory of her parents Mary Penrose Copeland '18 and Paul W. Copeland '20.
