I grew up in North Idaho and received my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
from Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston, ID. After taking a year to work in industry, I
went back to school at Washington State University and earned my Masters in
Teaching. During this time I was fortunate to be a Teaching Assistant in the Chemistry
Department for several undergraduate classes. I got my first teaching job at a tribal
school in Puyallup teaching 6th Grade Science and High School Chemistry. From here I
made a large change and moved to Chicago with my husband so he could complete his
own schooling. I have worked at Horizon Science Academy in Chicago since, starting
as a middle school science teacher and eventually transitioning into a Special Education
Teacher. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity, but I am very much looking forward
to moving back to the Northwest and being much closer to family and the outdoors.
