How it works

On the roof of the Science Building, we have a standard weather station. Ours is a Davis Instruments Vantage Pro Fan-Aspirated Weather Station.
The rooftop weather station is connected to a console, located on the first floor of the Science Building in the display case next to the seismograph and streamflow station.
In the same display case, attached to the console is a computer running special software. The Virtual Weather Station software automatically takes readings from the station on the roof via the console and uploads images to our website regularly.

Our weather station, console, and software were acquired as a complete package from Ambient Weather.
