The Whitman Wire is Whitman College's weekly student-run newspaper. With a circulation of over 1,200, The Whitman Wire serves the Whitman College student body, its network of faculty, staff, parents and alumni, and the local Walla Walla community.

In addition to publishing a weekly issue of the latest news, arts and sports coverage and student editorials, The Whitman Wire publishes several special editions, including Family Weekend, Commencement and Jack issues.

The Whitman Wire is entirely student-run and serves as an open forum for the student body as well as an outlet for gaining journalistic experience at a school that has no journalism program. The staff receives guidance from a Board of Advisers, a group of campus and community leaders, including Whitman College faculty and staff with journalism expertise as well as members of the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin. The Whitman Wire strives to maintain the highest standers of fairness, quality and journalistic integrity and is governed by a Code of Ethics, part of the full Governing Documents of The Wire.
