The Battlin' Bears have competed in the last 12 NAIA national women's golf championships.

Catelyn Webber, one of four first-year players in the Whitman contingent, shot 80 on Monday after having a birdie putt lip out on the final hole.

Webber finished with a 162 total, good enough for a fifth-place tie in the individual standings.

Caitlin Holland, the lone sophomore playing for Whitman, knocked down three birdie putts en route to a closing 81, a seven-stroke improvement from Sunday's opening round. That gave her a two-day total of 169.

"This puts us in a good position going into the Northwest Conference Fall Classic later this month."
