Women's Tennis Stays in Top 10 in Regional Rankings

WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- The Whitman College women's tennis team, No. 10 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional rankings released Thursday, will have plenty of chances to move up the ladder over the next three weeks.

Whitman heads to Texas next week for a string of four Spring Break matches, warming up with No. 15 Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday and UT-Dallas on Thursday.

The Missionaries then hit a critical stretch, facing No. 8 UT-Tyler that Friday followed the next day by No. 2 Trinity (Texas). 

After returning home, Whitman heads to Spokane on March 31 for a Northwest Conference match against No. 9 Whitworth. The Missionaries also host No. 7 Linfield on April 6.

Whitman, 7-2 on the season, has two players in the top five in the latest regional singles ranking.

Junior Alyssa Roberg is No. 3 while first-team teammate Courtney Lawless is No. 4. Roberg and Lawless are No. 3 in the regional doubles rankings.
