Karol Marcin ’95 Joins Whitman College Board of Trustees


Whitman College is pleased to announce the appointment of Karol Marcin ’95 to the Board of Trustees as of this fall. Marcin brings a deep commitment to Whitman’s mission and decades of experience working for top financial institutions to his role as a trustee.

Portrait of Karol MarcinMarcin came to the United States from Slovakia to study Economics at Whitman, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts. After three years working in investment banking in New York and Hong Kong, he went back to school to earn his Master of Business Administration from Stanford University. 

Marcin has spent the past 25 years in public equity investing, covering a wide range of global industries. 

“Whitman brings together people from all around the world, exposes them to new ideas and teaches them to think critically about important issues of our times,” Marcin says. “I would like to help Whitman continue its mission of preparing young people to succeed in life and to become contributing members of society.”

Marcin is a member of Whitman’s Investment Committee, which oversees the investment of the college’s endowment, and has been a generous supporter of the Upward Together campaign. He lives in Northern California with his wife and children.
