WHITMAN’S INTERCULTURAL CENTER TO HOST FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS
WALLA WALLA, Wash.—Winter holidays from around the world will be celebrated with food, music, crafts and more in a one-hour event on the Whitman College campus Friday, Dec. 10.
Whitman’s Intercultural Center will sponsor the annual Festival of Lights from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Young Ballroom, Reid Campus Center, 280 Boyer Ave., Whitman College campus. Members of the Whitman and Walla Walla communities are invited to attend. For more information, please call Kris Barry, multicultural program coordinator, at 527-5596.
Several groups from the Walla Walla community will perform, including the St. Paul Home School Bell Choir, members of The Kids Place day care and preschool. Whitman soloists and musical groups will also be involved, and campus diversity clubs will have booths or workshops available to creatively inform guests about how winter holidays are celebrated around the world. Club Latino, for example, will present a traditional Mexican laPosada, which will include a musical presentation followed by members of the club serving a special holiday bread to the audience.
