Here at the SEC we believe that working with the community is the cornerstone of fostering civic engagement in Whitman students. We host numerous events and programs that create experiential learning opportunities for students and contribute to the greater Walla Walla Valley.

We value the relationships we build with community partners. If you are one of our partners - thank you! If you wish to become one, see the instructions below. We are always open to new ideas.

If you're interested in volunteers, internships, or other partnerships with the SEC, here are three things that you can do to start:

  1. Sign up for the Community Partner listserv by sending an email to with your name and your organization.
  2. Check to see if you are listed in our Community Volunteer Opportunities.
  3. Have new openings? Help Whitman students see them by posting openings to Handshake, our online job board.
