Registration Appointment Times
To Be Prepared
Advisor Clearance
You MUST have your advisor’s electronic clearance to pre-register. Contact your adviser to request a phone or online meeting and request clearance. Those who do not have adviser clearance, will NOT be able to register (this is scary – don’t put yourself in that position).
Where to go
Pre-registration will be accessed in the Portal (my.whitman.edu) under the Registration tab. The Portal is where you will also find your wishlist and search for classes.
Other Key Information
Seat Capacities
Capacities will be updated by noon each day for classes reserving seats by class year.
Academic Overload
You may register for up to 18 academic credits and unlimited activity credits during Pre-registration. Students wishing to enroll in an academic overload (19-21 academic credits) must wait until the start of the Spring semester to add credits upon approval of an Academic Overload form.
Course Conflicts
To register for a class conflict, you must complete a Course Conflict Resolution form (or in the Registrar’s Office). You will register for the conflicting class in the Registrar’s Office (MEM 212) as you will not be able to add the conflicting classes online.
Academic Evaluations
You can view your Academic Evaluation online through the portal to confirm degree requirements.
Consent Only course approval and Prerequisite Waiver
You can contact the instructor or a course for assistance with the following:
- Authorization to enroll in a consent-only course.
- Getting a prerequisite waived.
You can confirm both consents and waivers in your Plan under Petitions & Waivers (there is no email notification) but will need to wait until your registration appointment time to Register.
Waitlists
More information will be sent out on how Waitlists will be conducted for Spring 2023. Stay tuned.
