As a new Whitman student, you will have a Whitman College email and network account created for you. However, you must activate your account before you can use it.

You will need to activate your Whitman College email and network account because several of Whitman College web resources, such as online placement tests and web registration, require that you use your Whitman email name. Your Whitman email account will also be used as a primary method of contacting you with important information and updates through the summer and throughout your time at Whitman College. Because your account is so important it is suggested that you activate it immediately.

The procedure to activate your account is simple, but you will need your Whitman ID number (WID), which was included on the New Student Orientation booklet that has been sent to you.

Remember: You can only go through the account activation once. Be sure to record the information (username and password) that you will be given. You cannot go back to this site to view your password!

Please read all the information under the "Acceptable Use for Campus Network" heading on the screen. By activating your computer accounts, you agree to follow these rules and guidelines. At the bottom of the information, you will see three boxes where you must enter the following information (this is only used to verify your identity and help prevent malicious access to your accounts):

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Whitman ID # (WID)

Once you have entered the correct information in all three boxes, click on the button labeled [I Agree to Abide by the Above Policies]

If your information is correct, a screen will appear that tells you your username and password. Make note of them and keep them safe! You should remember to close your browser window after writing down your username and password.

If you do not agree to abide by the policy, you will not be allowed to proceed with your account activation. You may contact WCTS for further discussion if you wish.
