IES: Berlin Language and Area Studies

The IES Berlin Language & Area Studies Program in Germany provides students with an opportunity to study the German language and about Germany in this thriving cultural and political center at the crossroads of East and West. Students can enroll either in courses with other US students at the IES Center or in courses with German students at Humboldt Universitat. All courses are taught by local faculty in German. To further facilitate cultural immersion, participants live in apartments with Germans, typically young professionals or families. A special feature of this program is the opportunity to enroll in an internship course.
