SEA Semester

Every SEA Semester begins with a shore component on SEA's campus in Woods Hole, MA and is followed by an open ocean research voyage. SEA Semester offers a number of programs/voyages in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

“Even though this program is based in America, I left the program feeling like I was integrated into a new culture, and got to see the world in a new and exciting way. Life is completely different on a tall ship in the middle of the ocean. There is a whole new lingo you need to learn, a new way of living, eating, sleeping, working, etc. You also become extremely close to the people on this crazy journey with you. Not only are you living with them in a cottage in Woods Hole, but you also live with them for weeks in relatively close quarters on the ship. Luckily, the people who join this program are all passionate, adventurous, brilliant and kind, so the company is amazing. The captain, the mates and the scientists all integrate the students into sea life very well. I felt comfortable and excited and challenged every day on the ship. Housing:	Woods Hole: in a house shared with other SEA Semester students On Ship: in a small berth
Meals:	Woods Hole: students work together to shop for and prepare meals On Ship: all meals are provided. Students take turns helping prepare meals in the ship's galley.
