Through IES, Whitman students can study in Milan, a modern city know for its world-class art, architecture, design, and fashion. The Italy Today program offers students courses in liberal arts and social sciences, all of which address aspects of contemporary Italian society.

Apartments with other American students and sometimes with Italian roommates
Homestays with Italian families


Apartment: Students typically cook breakfast and dinner for themselves and eat lunch at university cafeterias or nearby restaurants.
Homestay: Breakfast and dinner are provided by the host family.  Students eat lunch at university cafeterias or nearby restaurants.


Internships are available in a variety of areas including art, business, education, media, parliamentary, fashion, and social work.
