Kevin Morrison has previously held positions at Smith College, Macalester College, Elon University, Meredith College and Earlham College. He attended Willamette University earning a B.A. in International Studies. He received his M.A. in Intercultural Relations from the University of the Pacific.
With over 25 years of experience as an international educator, Kevin is always seeking to deepen his understanding of intercultural competence and how to nurture its development through global engagement both on and off campus. He is also interested in the role that intercultural experiences play in developing one’s sense of self and how identity is expressed through interpersonal interactions. A third major area of interest is promoting social justice and equity both at home and in the broader world through raising awareness and understanding of people who have differing backgrounds, belief-systems, and ways of living.
Kevin has been a frequent presenter and workshop facilitator covering topics from diversity, access, equity, and inclusion to intercultural competence. He maintains active participation in a number of international education organizations and currently serves on the steering committee for the Global Respectful Disruption Summit.
Born and raised in eastern Oregon, Kevin enjoys being outdoors. In his free time, you might find him out on an extended walk with his beagle, Max. Please say hi if you see them on campus! He is also an avid participant in the performing arts both as an audience member and a performer. He has performed with the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus and their smaller Chamber Singers ensemble. He has also appeared in a number of musical theatre productions, the most recent of which was a Macalester College production of Urinetown, a show that was on his bucket list.
