IFSA-Butler: Chilean Universities Program in Valparaiso allows students to enroll directly in classes at two different Universities, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaiso (PUCV) and Universidad Técnica Federico Santa Maria (USM).  In addition, it offers three program courses and an internship for credit. The program classes, taught in Spanish by local professors, are intended to provide students with an understanding of the events and issues that make Chile what it is today.

“Not many people in Valparaiso speak English, so meeting Chilean friends (and living with a family) is a great way to practice and improve your Spanish...My host family was very engaging and took me on small trips with extended family members. We celebrated many small holidays together, and I learned a ton about Chilean culture and family life from them. Chile is a huge country with lots of incredible places to visit, and living in Valparaiso never gets old.” - Aislyn B. ‘15
