The CIEE: Film Studies program in Prague, Czech Republic is appropriate for students with a strong background in film studies and a desire to develop the skills necessary to work professionally in the film industry. It is designed for students with specific training and interest in film production or screenwriting and combines both theoretical and practical instruction and activities led by film professionals.

“I received so much practical filmmaking experience by doing this program. The film studies program, while rather intense, really gave me the chance to work with film (not digital) and primarily devote myself to a single short film throughout the length of the semester. I learned so much from my Czech professors and mentors, all of whom are working professional filmmakers...My most valuable academic experiences came through the actual hands-on experiences of directing my own film and also working on the sets of my peers...I gained so much practical film experience that I never could have received at Whitman.” - Hannah P.
