Athletics Update: It Takes a City

Members of Whit City—a student organization that promotes a supportive environment for athletes and athletics fans on campus—cheer from the sidelines of a men’s basketball game.

The organization’s co-president Max Hanson ’18—pictured in the front row with baseball cap and Whit City t-shirt—says that he “grew up watching spirited college student sections having a blast being rowdy and engaging with the game. When a fanbase is excited about their teams, they provide an energy that their players feed off. We become part of the team.”

This season, Whitman’s men's basketball team was ranked in the top 10 by both HERO Sports and D3hoops and made it to the final of the Sweet 16 in Division III.
