Opening Week 2008
Opening Week 2008 found students exploring extracurricular options at the Student Activities Fair (right); checking in at residence halls, where they were greeted by enthusiastic staff, clever signs and balloons; and listening to professors (including Elyse Semerdjian, assistant professor of history, below right) explore the “The Complete Persepolis,” the summer reading selection for first-years. After the faculty panel, students met in small groups to discuss the book, which chronicles the universal trials and tribulations of growing up through the eyes of a young girl living in Tehran during the Islamic Revolution.
