Sueann Ramella, host and producer of NPR's Morning Edition, will serve as emcee for TEDxWhitmanCollege, organizers have announced.
"Sueann Ramella has an appreciative fan base on campus and in the Walla Walla community, so we are deeply honored that she will serve as the emcee for this inaugural TEDx event," said Cate Lyon, Whitman staff member and event sponsorship chair. "We have the feeling as if a friend will be talking to us! We are also grateful to Northwest Public Radio for its involvement and event support."
Before assuming her current role as host of Morning Edition in 2008, Ramella hosted All Things Considered for eight years. A native of the Tacoma-Puyallup area and graduate of Washington State University's Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, she has been with Northwest Public Radio since 1997.
TEDx is a series of independently organized, community-based conferences modeled on the internationally acclaimed TEDTalks format. The theme of TEDxWhitmanCollege is "Walla Walla and Beyond." The April 27 event brings together seven speakers from the Whitman and Walla Walla communities to share ideas in 15-minute talks.
