Kirsten Nicolaysen awarded a National Science Foundation Grant
Kirsten Nicolaysen, associate professor of geology, was awarded an $85,655 National Science Foundation Grant to study the impacts of geologic disasters, such as volcanic eruptions, on prehistoric human and ecological systems of the northern Pacific Rim with her students and colleagues. The volcanic island of Mt. Carlisle (pictured) is part of the collaborative research site.
