Whitman College professor's film on wiffle ball to air locally on PBS
WALLA WALLA — Robert Sickels, associate professor of rhetoric and film studies, has produced a film titled "Walla Walla Wiffle – Where Men are Boys," a documentary about the annual Walla Walla Wiffle Tournament.
Already the film has been broadcast on Seattle and Walla Walla PBS stations. It will air again locally on KCTS Jan. 14 at 8:50 p.m., Jan. 16 at 9:51 p.m., Jan. 21 at 9:51 p.m., Jan. 24 at 4:45 p.m. and Jan. 29 at 11:50 p.m.

The film is also getting play in the professional sports world — the Portland Trailblazers recently held a wiffle ball night and screened the film in its entirety in HD on the Jumbotron before the game.
Sickels is currently on sabbatical from Whitman; he is in Hong Kong as a Senior Fulbright Scholar. Read more here.
