Friday Baseball at Borleske Moved Up
WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- With the weather forecast calling for a near 100 percent chance of rain Friday afternoon, the scheduled start of Friday's baseball doubleheader between Whitman College and Pacific Lutheran has been moved up one hour to 11 a.m.
While slated for two games Friday at Borleske Stadium, the Missionaries and Lutes hope to squeeze at least one game into the books before the worst of the rain hits.
As it stands now, the two teams are set to play a third game starting at noon on Saturday.
If weather limits Friday's play, two games could be played on Saturday if necessary. Northwest Conference rules prohibit games from being played on Easter Sunday.
As of 3 p.m. today, the Walla Walla forecast says rain is likely Friday morning with the chance for precipitation nearing 100 percent by the afternoon with winds increasing to 25 to 35 miles per hour. High temperatures are pegged at 47 to 53 degrees.
The chance for precipitation Friday night is 60 percent with low temperatures ranging between 30 and 39.
Saturday's forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of showers with winds at 15 to 25 miles per hour and high tempereatures between 50 and 55.
