WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- The Whitman College women's basketball program is hosting a series of five Sunday camps for girls who want to work on offensive fundamentals and skills.

The first camp session, which runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., takes place this Sunday, Oct. 11, at Whitman's Sherwood Center. Camps are set for each of the next four Sundays during the same hours.

The camps, for girls between grades four and 12, will help players develop individual offensive skills such as shooting, ball handling, and one-on-one perimeter and post moves. Whitman's coaching staff and players will provide the instruction.

Players can attend any or all of the camp sessions. The cost is $20 per session or $80 for all five.

Waiver forms, which have been distributed to local schools, must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Forms are also available by calling Whitman head coach Michelle Ferenz (527-5261) or assistant coach Alyssa Latham (522-4447). Questions are also welcome.

Checks can be made payable to "Whitman College Women's Basketball."
