The game starts at 2 p.m. at the Whitman Athletic Fields.

Whitman, 1-1-1 in early non-conference games, got off to a flying start in its season opener earlier this month, jumping in front 3-0 in the first half against Northwest University. After the Eagles rallied in the second half for a 3-3 tie, Whitman split its next two games, edging Capital University (Bexley, Ohio) before falling 4-0 to the University of California-Santa Cruz.

Senior captain Corina Gabbert, who led the Missionaries in scoring a year ago, has one goal and two assists in Whitman's first three games.

Kristin Innes, a junior captain, has one goal and one assist. Seniors Liz Forbes and Kendall Shibuya have one goal apiece.

Goalkeeper Courtney Porter, Whitman's other senior captain, has one shutout in her first three games, giving her 19 shutouts in her Missionary career.

Whitworth, one of the better teams in the NWC, is off to a 3-1 start. The Pirates opened the season by downing St. Olaf and Gustavus Adolphus before losing 1-0 to UC-Santa Cruz. They edged Capital 2-1 in overtime in their last outing.

Lindsey Oakes leads the Whitworth offense with two goals and one assist.

Whitman continues a busy week when it hosts two more NWC foes this weekend. George Fox comes to town on Saturday followed by Pacific on Sunday. Both weekend games start at noon.
