WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Three seniors take the home pitch for a final time when the Whitman College men's soccer team hosts its last home game of the season Tuesday afternoon at the Whitman Athletic Fields.

      Jasper Lipton
     Todd Wallenius

The game starts at 4:30 p.m. with Montana's University of Great Falls providing the non-conference opposition.

While injured senior Jerreh Badjie watches from the sidelines, seniors Todd Wallenius and Jasper Lipton will play their final home games for the Missionaries. Badjie suffered a season-ending injury earlier this fall.

Great Falls, an NAIA-affiliated school, is 12-4 on the season. The Argos play tonight (Monday) at Walla Walla University before coming to Whitman on Tuesday.

After Tuesday's game, Whitman wraps up its season with three Northwest Conference road games.

The Missionaries play Saturday and Sunday at Linfield and Willamette in western Oregon, and then head to Spokane on Saturday, Nov. 7, for a final game against Whitworth.

Wallenius, a forward from Oceanside, Calif., is Whitman's leading scorer this season with six goals. He earned All-NWC Second-Team honors last fall as a junior, when he combined six goals with three assists. Two years ago, in his first season with the Missionaries, Wallenius contributed three goals and one assist.

Lipton, a midfielder from Boulder, Colo., moved into a  defensive midfield role this fall to help fill gaps left by graduation last spring. While Lipton hasn't scored this season, he had five goals and one assist as a forward in his three previous fall campaigns .

Badjie, a forward from Banjul, Gambia, was expected to play a greater role in Whitman's offense this fall. He played in just two games, however, until his season was cut short by injury. Badjie had two assists in a reserve role in his first two seasons at Whitman.
